Jan Mankes (1920) has gone down in art history as "Holland's most tranquil painter". His work is characterised by a certain stillness. This silence is caused by balanced compositions and subdued use of colour. “De Bomenrij” (The Row of Trees) is a good example of his Art Style and can be seen in Museum MORE (modern realism).
